Chapter 3:                                               YOUR EDEN
Now I would like to get a little more personal.  Your was placed in the darkness of a womb where your conception took place.  Let us think of this tiny womb as your own personal garden, your own Eden, the place where all ordained human life begins.  For your conception to have taken place, everything needed to be just as the creator had intended and in perfect alignment with this creative power.  If that were not so, you would not be reading this book.  For some though, the circumstances under which their conception took place may not have been as the Creator intended.   Some of us were conceived in a moment of passionate infatuation.    Unfortunately for others their conception took place during the violent act of rape.  In this instance, traces of that pain may have had a devastating effect on the fetus which could show up later in growth outside the womb.  Yet, even in the latter, in order for you to exist in human form, the process for insemination and seed fertilization must have been in perfect alignment with the created order.  Regardless of the circumstances surrounding your conception, you are now in the womb and the womb has become your own personal Eden, a place where your ordained innocent human life began.  But! Your innocence is no more, for you are now at the mercy of your mothers and fathers genetic family history.  You will be subjected to their diseases, their addictions, their habits and yes even their thoughts both good and bad.   In the early stages of life you have no control over what comes next.  Here in the womb in the moments of conception, we all start out completely innocent but at the mercy of our human gene pool and our DNA and whatever we receive from the umbilical cord that feeds and sustains us.

WHILE IN YOUR EDEN
Everything your mother and father have in their ancestral genetic gene pool now joins together to create you as your cells begin to divide and grow.   Everything your mother takes into her body through eating, drinking, thinking or breathing, is to some degree fed to you through the ingenious invention of the umbilical feeding cord.  Every feeling and emotion, negative or positive your mother feels, you now begin to experience, to some degree.  For some the effect may be minimal but for others the consequences can be devastating.  The women who is carrying you in her womb, is now a part of you as you are a part of her.  Her DNA, the fathers DNA and you all come together as you become one with them.   Jesus expresses this oneness with his father in much the same way with this strange metaphor found in John 6: beginning at verse 56 where he says, “whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I remain in him.  Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.” According to Christian teachings taking Jesus into your life in this way makes you one with him and his father.   The ritual within the Christian church that illustrates this best is the service of communion.  Here the sharing of bread and wine symbolically represents become one with Jesus.   Others feel that you can take Christ in by feeding on the words and teachings of Jesus from scripture.

Using the womb as a metaphor we can begin to imagine or image that your seed will receive through its feeding tube {the umbilical cord} both good nourishment as well as bad nourishment from the parent.  What you must remember here is that you have no control over what you will receive and are at this point in conception completely innocent.   For the moment, we will concentrate on some of the bad nourishment. The bad stuff can and does come in the form of contaminated food and poor air quality.  There are unwanted chemicals, negative thoughts and feelings, a history of genetic diseases and or deformities that you have no control over.  Theses contaminates if received in excess can play havoc with your growth and development in the womb before you were born.   Some of the common addictive contaminates would include prescription and non-prescription drugs, tobacco and alcohol.   Even mental and physical diseases can be genetically transferred from the genes of the mother, father or prior family generations to the child during this period of development.  These contaminates could also make your cells susceptible to certain diseases or addictions as you grow and mature in and out of the womb.  Let us consider just one chemical that has been confirmed as having serious adverse effect on the fetus, FAC, or “Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.”  This syndrome has produced birth defects, learning, and behavioral problems affecting individuals whose mothers consumed alcohol during pregnancy for whatever the reason.  It has been stated that FAS is the most common preventable cause of mental retardation.   With drawl symptoms have also been observed in some newborns affected by FAS.   This condition was officially recognized and reported in the French medical literature of 1968 and included in the American medical literature of 1973.  It has been reported by Centres for Disease Control and Prevention in the USA that FAS affects 2 live births in every 1000.   FAE or Fetal Alcohol Effects which is a milder form of FAS affects 3 to 5 live births in every 1000.   Alcohol is only one of the foreign substances that may have been transmitted to you through the umbilical cord feeding system. There are chemicals found in purified water, processed foods, prescription drugs, over the counter medications, tobacco, and the list goes on.

Let us remember that there is good positive nourishment happing also.  This would lead us to conclude that the unborn are completely innocent and helpless at all stages of development while in the womb.

Chapter 1 and 2

OUT OF DARKNESS AND INTO
"THE LIGHT"

DO YOU FIND LIFE DIFFICULT
ARE YOU FEELING TRAPPED BY YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES
OR
IF YOU ARE SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS ABOUT LIFE AND CREATION

This Series of Writings May be of Help
Here you will find some facts, parables, illustrated stories, metaphors and, my own theological and spiritual perspectives.  Within the writings, if you are open minded, you may discover some truths about yourself and about the world that we live in.

In the beginning there was darkness and the darkness
covered the earth.  It was in that darkness that Chaos was conceived and God allowed Chaos its rightful place in creation.
   Genesis 1: 1-2
To be fully human you were born in the darkness of your mothers womb. While in that darkness you were innocent and unaware, you were not meant to stay in darkness or remain innocent, you were meant to live.  So then, I invite you to begin.
                                                    COME TO THE LIGHT
My hope and prayer is that you may find these writings and their content a comfort in a world that likes to keep us in the dark, a world that would like us to believe in its illusions.

Chapter 1 and 2
IN THE BEGINNING
In the beginning, there was darkness, and the darkness covered the earth. In the darkness, chaos was conceived, and both darkness and chaos were given their rightful place in creation. Out of creative genius, God brought light into creation, and in that light, hope was conceived. God gave both light and hope their rightful place, and darkness and chaos would never be the same again.
According to a creation myth found in the ancient Hebrew writings of the Old Testament, God then created a garden and called it Eden.  It was there in that garden that humankind began and was allowed the will to choose.  The gift of free will can be your worst enemy at times.

YOU WERE THERE IN THE BEGINNING
Have you ever had the notion that before you were born, you existed?  The Prophet Jeremiah tells us in one of his writings from chapter 1: verses 4-5, {New International  Version} and I quote: “The word of the Lord came to me saying, before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Some people experience what they call déjà-vu.  They sometimes feel they have been in a place or experienced the same thing before.  The thought has been that we all have past lives that we lived before.  Well if the prophet Jeremiah is right, you did.  We all came from one original seedpod did we not?  Quantum physics and other scientific discoveries in the last century are beginning to enlighten us to the fact that we are all connected together in a string of genetic imprints, and they in turn are connected to the universe and creation itself.
All life as we know it came from a seedpod and every seedpod has a genetic imprint and memory from its origins, or where it came from and how to reproduce itself.  In other words it has a form of intelligence.   Let us call this our collective genetic gen pool.  One original seedpod where everyone who ever was or will be came from.   Are you following me?
I believe that some of us get glimpses from our ancestral genetic gen pool and memory bank in such a way that we experience past events in the human seeds history.  If this is true, then wouldn’t we also be connected to the energy that created everything in some ingenious way?  I believe this to be true.

FROM ONE SEED
I worked up a children’s story to be delivered at a Baptist church in a small mining town in Nova Scotia where I had been invited to sing and share a faith story with the children.   I had pre-cut an apple so I could pull it apart easily and expose some apples seeds.  When it came time to present my story I twisted the apple and it open ever so easily.  One of the children exclaimed “how you do that”  “It a mystery” I explained.  I then proceeded to pop out one of the tiny seeds and ask if anyone could tell me what it was.  Of course someone shouted an apple seed.  Then I asked can anyone see inside this seed.  No answers.  “Well then, if you could look inside this apple seed what do you think you could see.”  One little boy exclaimed “more apples, trees and more seeds”  It was the same little boy who curiously asked me “How’d you do that” so I asked him, “How’d you know that?”  Then he blew me away by saying, “if you plant it, water it, and take care of it, it will show you its truth”.   This child blew me away!
Have I got your attention?
Would you like to go a little deeper?
Well then, let your imagination begin to work with this beautiful metaphor as I ask you this question.  If you could get sucked into that apple seed just for a moment what would you see?  Would it be possible for you to see beyond its potential?   I mean to see every apple, seed, and tree of that species there ever was or will ever be?  Wouldn’t that be amazing and can you begin to see in your mind’s eye, the handy work of its ingenious Creator.
Can you now begin to see the possibility that you truly existed before you were born?

Let me explain it this way.
Science tells us that all life came from germinated seed in some form, so, there must have been an original, a beginning seed if you will, where all living things have a universal genetic connection.   Can your minds eye see your seed as coming from the ancestral genetic gene pool of the first human seed.   According to the Hebrew Bible we all come from the original seed of ADAM, a Hebrew word meaning Mankind.  Well, according to the Christian New Testament writings there was one human born who was not of the seed of ADAM.   The writings tell us that a young women by the name of Mary would become pregnant with a child but his conception would not take place by man, but would be conceived by the Holy Spirit .  This child would be called Jesus and would be free from the tainted seed of ADAM.  Fully human yet connected directly from the Divine.   We also know, according to the Hebrew creation story found in their Old Testament writings, that ADAM, the first of humankind was created from the dust of the earth and was given the gift of fee will.  In exercising his will to choose, ADAM creates a major problem for the coming generations, and for the seed they will produce.  I think I can paraphrase it this way.  ADAMS free will caused one particular side effect that awoke in him, humankinds ego.  ADAMS ego gets the better of him and he chooses to disobey his Creator and do things his way.
Regardless of whether you see this story as fact or myth, there is an opportunity to find an underlying truth here.
If you take the seed of a particular brand of apple, we know it has a history and genetic connection to the original tree that produced the first apple of its kind.  Even though you can only see the tree in your minds eye you know the tree exists.   You also know as did the boy in my children’s story that inside its seed lay the potential for future generations of that species.  Now if the original seed were to have picked up a genetic flaw during its conception or along the way in its evolution, it would pass the flaw along to future generations of that species.
Because of that truth, there is the potential for more trees with more apples and more seeds.   We cannot see it with our eyes, or understand how it happens using our minds, but in our heart of hearts we know this potential exists because if you plant this seed, water and care for it properly, it will show you it's truth.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT’S IS INSIDE A SEED
Here is where you have to stretch your imagination to again see another truth in this metaphor.   If you could look inside that apple seed for just a moment, and see its full potential in all its glory, you might be able to see every apple and every tree of that particular variety there ever was or ever will be.   Now think for a moment, if you were permitted to look into your human seed.  What would your minds eye see there?   Would it then be possible for you to see, every person there ever was or ever will be and the DNA strand that connects us to one another.   I truly believe that we are all connected by the seed of creation itself and to the entity that created us in some ingenious way.   Now that’s increasable!   There is an old black spiritual song with a metaphor that illustrates our connectedness, the lyric say “none of us are free, none of us are free, if one of us is chained none of us are free, none of us are free, if one of us is chained none of us are free.” Spiritually and genetically I believe we are all connected.  Our Black brothers and sisters have been singing about this for many years.  Take a moment and check out the song:
